The Lancair IV and IV-P are a group of four-seat low-wing retractable-gear composite monoplanes controlled by a 550 cubic inch Mainland turbo-standardized cylinder motor.
The Lancair IV and IV-P were composed by Lancair around the Mainland TSIO-550 - a twin turbocharged motor that is fit for creating 350 hp (261 kW) adrift level and equipped for working heights as high as 29,000 feet.
By the fall of 2011 110 Lancair IVs and 250 IV-Ps had been finished and were flying.
In 2014, Bill Harrelson guided a Lancair IV setting a world pace record for solo flight between the world's posts for an airplane under 3,000 kilograms (6,600 lb) in a 175-hour-long arrangement of flights. The flight additionally broke a record from Fairbanks, Gold country to Kinston, North Carolina. The airplane was adjusted to hold 361 U.S. gallons (1,370 L; 301 demon lady) of fuel.
